Children join in the fun at Buxton Fringe!

PRESS RELEASE for immediate release June 2026

This year’s jam-packed Buxton Fringe (July 8th-26th) features a lively Children’s Events category with a huge variety of entertainment and plenty of chances to join in the fun!

Sole Rebel’s Jazz Gig for Kids promises a relaxed afternoon of live jazz with tap dancing performances plus an opportunity for family audiences to bring their own dancing shoes. Ben Dali’s Humdinger Words for Whippersnappers and Guttersnipes offers an interactive comedy-cabaret show in which children can perform their own poetry. Even the smallest children can be artistic and Stone and Water’s A Tiny! Circus! will help three-year-olds and over create Tiny circus characters.

Valhalla Awaits: Viking Stories for Kids adds an epic dimension with stories of gods, ice giants and monsters and a chance for children to take on some meaty roles. Edy Hurst’s Dream Park! meanwhile requires audience involvement in order for Edy to achieve his ambition to build the world’s greatest theme park.

REC Youth Theatre, featuring talented young stars, is putting on an epic storytelling adventure, The Dragon’s Pearl, aimed at children aged four and above plus their families. If all this is making audiences hungry, superchef Marie Beret aka actor Jan Brennan is promising “a session of pure silly sausageness” with her Children’s Happy Hour.

Fringe Marketing Officer Stephanie Billen says: “You don’t just need to be a child to enjoy these fun-sounding events so why not bring the whole family?”

For further information, audiences should see www.buxtonfringe.org.uk, download the free Fringe App or visit the friendly Fringe Information Desk in the Pavilion Gardens’ Octagon Lounge, open daily from 10-5pm!

The Fringe wishes to thank High Peak Borough Council, its Fringe Friends and the town’s many Fringe supporters and venues.
