60 acts and counting - Buxton Fringe begins to fill up!

Press Release 11 March 2015. For immediate release.

With the end of March second early bird deadline looming for Buxton Fringe, the committee is delighted to report that Buxton Festival Fringe is already beginning to fill up.

The Fringe, which runs from July 8-26 and showcases the best in new and seasoned performances, now has over 60 acts signed up and the standard is looking as high as ever. With award-winning comedy from Charles Adrian Gillott with his show ‘Stories about Love, Death and a Rabbit’ and ‘Titus Andronicus’ from Fringe Award-winning Smooth Faced Gentlemen, as well as Fringe favourites such as family show, Tiny! Pirates and their Friends by Stone and Water, the return of the Buxton Art Trail and American bluegrass from Aprille and the Shower, it is set to be a great Fringe.

Currently music is the largest section, but dance duo Colin and Yozy, can currently claim the furthest journey so far, attending the Fringe, fresh from a tour of China and Japan. This year’s Fringe is also spreading beyond Buxton with events taking place in New Mills, Crowdecote and Chelmorton.

Keith Savage Chair of the Fringe says, “The whole committee becomes excited at this time of year when we see the programme begin to full up. It is brilliant to welcome back artists we know well, as well as meet fresh new talent. It is this time of year The Fringe really starts to begin again.”

The deadline for the last early entry offer of £70 is March 31st, with the final deadline for inclusion in the printed programme being April 19th 2015.

The Fringe is grateful to all its venues around the town and beyond, including the spectacular Buxton Dome, home of the Fringe's sponsor and close partner, The University of Derby.
