Spoken Word with Special Guests and Some Devilish Locations at the Fringe

Press Release for immediate release

The Spoken Word category has been quietly growing at the Fringe and this year's programme contains some real treats including a rare appearance from the internationally renowned poet Roy Fisher together with Yorkshire poet and popular Radio 4 broadcaster Ian McMillan at The Packhorse Inn at Crowdecote. Ann Atkinson, Poet Laureate of Derbyshire, will also be joining the Packhorse Poets at Crowdecote on July 20.

Audience participation is very much encouraged at the traditional Open Poetry Slam from Word Wizards at Buxton's Grove Hotel while over at Underground Venues, those with a taste for storytelling can enjoy Kat Quatermass's tales of love and loss, and the debut solo show from Richard Tyrone, 'the Ringmaster of the Spoken Word'.

Upstairs in The Old Hall Hotel, ICV Newton invites us to consider some of the greatest scams in art history in The Art of the Fake (now only on July 17), while the Fringe itself offers wonderfully informal - and free - Fringe Readings on every topic under the sun.

Finally, in a definite first for the Fringe, acclaimed performance poet Mark Gwynne Jones and the Psychicbread perform a unique show in Peak Cavern, aka the Devil's Arse!
