Massive music programme at Buxton Festival Fringe

A massive music section has helped make 2008 Buxton's biggest Fringe to date.

Buxton Festival Fringe (July 9-27) provides a wonderful programme of musical events to complement the impressive, opera-based repertoire of the prestigious Buxton Festival running at the same time. And like the Festival, the Fringe is running two days longer than last year giving you even more time to enjoy the vast range of music on offer.

  • Top quality orchestras: Amaretti Chamber (featuring ex-professional Halle players); award-winning High Peak; Fringe favourite, Manchester Recorder; King Edward Musical Society of Macclesfield
  • Medieval and Renaissance music: excellent repertoires from Accordes, Aitone and Partita
  • Folk and rock: Full Metal Waistcoat; The Aoife Hearty Trio; The Story of Jam from Chapel Youth Centre; Jim MacCool; Sam Dunkley
  • Music as therapy: classical guitar from James Rippingale; Don't Fret chillout sessions and Underground Jazz Club at Underground Venues
