Buxton Festival Fringe Has New-Look Website

Buxton Festival Fringe has completely re-vamped its website in preparation for what looks set to be a massive Fringe in July (8-24).

This major annual event runs alongside the opera and literature based international Buxton Festival and features a wide variety of arts with no censorship or selection.

The website at www.buxtonfringe.com was originally set up by Tom Crawshaw with help from Alison Broady of Wyehead Design. Now current webmaster Dan Osborne and committee member James West have completely redesigned the site so as to make it even more coherent and more in keeping with the fun and quirky nature of the Fringe. Says Dan: 'It looks great now; it's much easier to find your way around and we have also added pictures to give it a livelier feel.'

With the strict May 1 deadline looming for performers, many artists have already sent in their forms - often electronically via the website. For the first time, it is now possible to go on the website and see the programme building up as the entries come in.

Adds Dan: 'Where the performers have listed their own website, we've turned that into a link so that you can learn more about the shows.' There are also links on the website to the Fringe's major sponsors and to useful sites of interest to visitors to the area.

With past reviews and awards on line, plus up-to-date news sections and information and publicity tips for entrants, the website has never been so comprehensive. Why not check it out for yourselves, and if you are a potential performer, remember the deadline is May 1 but you can save time by downloading the electronic booking form and emailing it back.
